Notes on the Phoebe/Ursula hard disc image meeting of 22/1/98 ------------------------------------------------------------- Attending: XXXX , XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX Purpose of meeting ------------------ To decide what will be present on the hard disc supplied in the Phoebe product. !Boot ----- - Externally the same as on current RPC. - Internally a different structure. - Configure lies within !Boot and as before, is loaded by double-clicking !Boot. - We should try and add some more fonts inside !Fonts - talk to EFF? ACTION: Someone to talk to EFF about having some more fonts. Apps ---- Exact distribution between Apps and Utilities directories still to be decided, but we should try and include: - !SciCalc, with new look buttons. - !Edit, !Draw & !Paint. - Try and arrange with author of !Organiser to replace !Alarm with it. Possible problems because of similarity with Lotus Organiser. Modifications to change the look may be needed. We'd also like Organiser to be modified to use the URI protocol so we can click on URLs in it's address book. - Assuming !Organiser is included in Apps, include !Alarm on CD. - Replace !Maestro with !ReMIDI and stick !Maestro on CD. - !Squash. - Replay 3 front-end (still do be written). - Cut down version of EasiWriter. - Browse, E-mail client and Modem dialler app. - Java. - Shockwave Player. - PDF viewer - more work to be done to make it into a browser plug-in? ACTION: XXXX to talk to XXXX about the whole issue of plug-ins for the browser. Also about the new email client currently being written. - CloseUp. - CDPlayer - with XXXX's New Look. If tweaks are necessary, he has the sources. - ChangeFSI. - ImageFS - this may need to be changed so it doesn't convert JPEGs, as RISC OS already handles these okay. - A movie player - perhaps MovieFS? Or a browser plug-in? MUST play AVIs. Problems with licensing of AVI. ACTION: XXXX to talk to XXXX about Indeo codec (AVI). - A sample player (.WAV). MovieFS will also play WAVs. - !SoundCon. - !HForm, !Verify and a disc repair utility of some sort (perhaps FSCK). ACTION: Someone to talk to XXXX about what he has done/requires. - !ResetBoot (in some form or other) - PhotoView. - Printers. - !Omni. - !Access+ and !AccessCD. - !Chars. - !Help (probably in ROM). - ICA Client. - !T1ToFont moved to the CD. - Provide a bootable CD.
