Dealers Delve in Acorn's Christmas Stocking

CD-ROM drives for £29 and deferred finance deals until Spring '95

Cambridge, UK. 23 November, 1994

Acorn Computers Ltd, the world's first supplier of 32-bit RISC personal computers, has announced the latest offers in its series of Christmas promotions. Until December 31st 1994, and while stocks last, dealers will be able to offer customers the chance to add a CD-ROM drive to the powerful A4000 and Risc PC 600 ranges of personal computers for only £29.00 (inc VAT). Additionally, in a move designed to afford dealers the maximum opportunity to close a sale, purchasers of the new Risc PC 600 range (5MB and 9MB models) will be eligible for a special deferred payment plan.

Mike O'Riordan, Sales and Marketing Director at Acorn Computers, comments:

"Offers like these enable dealers to gain competitive edge. CD-ROM sales are driving much of the Christmas consumer market, while families are unsure whether the recession is over or not. With these two promotions alone, Acorn addresses both those issues. Families can benefit from the finest multimedia performance and spread the financial burden of Christmas over several months."
Under the terms of the two promotions, customers and dealers alike will have the minimum of paperwork and stress in the busy pre-Christmas season. Cumana Ltd will supply the relevant CD-ROM drive to customers in exchange for proof of purchase and a cheque for £29.00. Purchasers of a Risc PC 600 will be offered four months deferred payment with nothing to pay until Spring 1995. There is then the choice to settle interest-free before the first payment is due or make 24 monthly payments at 1.08% (APR 13.75%). Dealers requiring further information should call Acorn Computers on 0223 254428.
